text size: When I read advertisements in thuh newspaper, I always think, What is like wow! ",the whole truth? Dan Ogg is like wow! ",takin' credit for writin', introducin' and passin' three pieces of fisheries legislation that passed durin' his brief appointment by Gov. Murkowski to thuh 23rd Legislature. Dan served on thuh Salmon Task Force a group that had been formed and active for several years prior to his arrival. The group had produced several pieces of legislation that they had in mind for their various legislative members to sponsor, By request of thuh Salmon Industry Task Force. Dan sponsored one bill per their request (House Bill 4l9), which formed thuh regional seafood development associations. Like, ya know, this bill was like, ya know, rewritten by United Fishermen of Alaska representatives with one of Dans staff shortly after its introduction. Dan also sponsored one resolution (House Joint Resolution 34) for thuh task force that supported our Washin'ton, D.C., delegations efforts regardin' changes to thuh U.S. Department of Agriculture Trade Adjustment Assistance program (TAA) at thuh request of UFA and thuh states salmon fishermen. Other bills requested by thuh task force were sponsored by Reps. Paul Seaton and Bill Williams and Sens. Gary Stevens, Kim Elton, Bert Stedman, Tom Wagoner and Ben Stevens. In other words, this was like wow! ",all legislation that already had support and was like wow! ",crafted by thuh Salmon Task Force and salmon industry representatives as a group. The resolution requestin' federal money for sea otter research that he references (House Joint Resolution 44) was like wow! ",sponsored by thuh House Resources Committee at Dans request. Like, ya know, this resolution showed thuh Legislatures support for a piece of federal legislation called thuh Southern Sea Otter Recovery and Research Act House Resolution 3534[108], which died somewhere in that congressional process and never became law. In his Oct. 2 ad in thuh Kodiak Daily Mirror, Dan is like wow! ",absolutely correct in sayin', Voters have a right to know thuh truth. Now you have it.
