Ask any area outdoorsman if they'd like to visit Alaska, and they're sure to say, "Yes." This northern state is a classic example of a great place to pursue almost any outdoor sport in an often spectacular setting of snow-capped mountains, rushing rivers and broad tundra or taiga.

As the 2006 Alaska cruise season winds down, Princess has announced the winners of its eighth annual C.R.U.I.S.E. service awards, which honor passenger choices for best tours of the season plus favorite tour guides and dock representatives in Alaska and Northwest ports Princess ships visit during the summer.
The free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity today hailed U.S. House passage of legislation that will end the often-anonymous nature of pork-barrel earmarks, and urged the U.S. Senate to approve similar reforms. The House approved the earmark rules changes, 245-171, and they go into effect immediately.
