Eight Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce members are vying for six open board of director seats. Executive director Susan Gorski said ballots, which were mailed to members Aug. 9, must be received in the chamber office by 10 a.m. Sept. 15. Those elected will serve two-year terms.
Alaska's housing numbers in July appear to be reflecting the plunging national sales rates, which reached the lowest levels since January 2004. But local industry analysts aren't worried yet, as homes sales remain strong and prices continue to rise.
