On Sept. 9, 2006 the family of Frank and Helen Martindale Rice Held it's 26th annual reunion at the Causeway in Thomson. There were 105 family members and a few friends in attendance. After a delicious picnic dinner, the annual meeting was held.

Alaska State Troopers say a contract worker from Anchorage was assaulted Monday with a meat cleaver as he worked at a school in Teller. Troopers say 28-year-old Guy Robinson needed stitches to close cuts he suffered when he was attacked by 19-year-old Shawn Pushruk, who was charged with assault.
